Homes for youth in foster care

Our partnership with Chasing Hope House

Canton For All People received a $1.5 million grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh, which funneled through PNC Bank, to build three homes for our partner Chasing Hope House.

Chasing Hope House is a nonprofit organization in Stark County supporting teens age 19 and under who are at risk of homelessness, young parents and teenagers who are in the foster care system.

The homes will include four bedrooms each and house a total of 12 teenage girls. Chais Ross, founder and executive director of Chasing Hope House, grew up in the Newton area of the Greater Shorb Neighborhood

“The neighborhood, it’s being revitalized,” Ross said. “There’ll be new homeowners, new houses built. It’s a great opportunity to just build something new for that area and bring that back. Because there’s a fabulous opportunity. I ride through there now and I see kids riding their bikes outside.”

Construction on the homes will begin in early summer.
